This is an exceptional opportunity to join the Avanti Court Primary School (Redbridge), Barkingside, Ilford with the Premises team.

We need an exceptional person to join our team as our Premises and Lettings Officer who will support ensuring the site and premises are safe, secure, and well organised so that our children have the very best learning environment.

This is a unique opportunity to help develop the school, which will be shaped by three key elements for both students and staff:

What will you do?

  • Ensure premises, grounds, and parking areas are clean, tidy, and safe, including snow clearance and gritting in adverse weather, emptying bins, and resolving issues after bookings.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute goods and mail, excluding specialist items, and set up room layouts and equipment for events.
  • Provide cleaning services, ensure availability of consumables, and monitor car park usage, enforcing authorization.
  • Conduct security activities, fire alarm tests, and emergency responses, including unlocking/locking premises and assisting with fire drills.
  • Open/close premises for events, maintain cleanliness before/after bookings, provide first aid equipment, and comply with school policies and protocols.

What are we looking for?

  • Good communication skills; written and verbal
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Numeracy and Literacy
  • Understanding of Health and Safety and security issues
  • Good organisational skills- ability to meet deadlines and make decisions in emergencies
  • Ability to understand and apply school policies related to the post, including those that relate to pupils’ safety
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students
