Avanti Services Ltd is seeking an exceptional candidate to join our school as a Spiritual Wellbeing Lead at Avanti Gardens on a permanent basis.

This is an opportunity for a gifted individual with excellent interpersonal skills to nurture and support our pupils at the very start of their spiritual journey. Working closely with teaching and key pastoral staff, the Spiritual Wellbeing Leads will help strengthen and deepen the spiritual ethos of the school.

Avanti Gardens is a primary school situated in Fishponds, Bristol. The school is housed in a beautiful campus, that was previously an all-through school, and before that part of Bristol University, which means it has many facilities that primary schools don’t, like a full-size auditorium and sports hall. “We’re really fortunate, even though we are in the middle of Bristol, there’s lot of outdoor areas that we can use.” - Mrs Rodgers, Inclusion Lead.

Our staff are inspired and passionate about their roles, the vision of the school, and providing the most fulfilling learning experience for pupils. Learning is a quest to discover each student’s unique gifts and potential, and to lay the foundation for their lifelong journey of learning.

What will you do?

  • Foster the holistic development of students and staff—emotionally, spiritually, and mentally—aligned with the school’s ethos and values.
  • Offer one-to-one emotional and spiritual wellbeing support, while facilitating reflective discussion groups for pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Collaborate with teaching, pastoral, and inclusion teams to enhance the school’s overall wellbeing and chaplaincy provision.
  • Plan and deliver assemblies, immersive workshops, and community outreach activities, while creating meaningful wellbeing resources.
  • Develop and evaluate the chaplaincy programme, supporting the induction of new members and contributing to a spiritually nurturing school culture.

Why should you apply

Avanti exists to help each person become a well-rounded human being through intellectual, moral and spiritual growth, and so make the world a better place.

You will be working in a fantastic environment, with:

  • O2 discounts, Specsavers corporate eye test vouchers
  • Flexible working opportunities

  • Cycle-to-work Scheme

What are we looking for?

  • Empathic listening skills, excellent communication, organisation and presentation skills
  • Ability to act upon own initiative
  • A warm, friendly attitude that make person approachable for students, staff and parents
  • Have a dedicated spiritual practice and deep understanding of spirituality.
  • Experience of leading faith related / spiritual activities in an educational setting
